The new catamaran has a variety of fishing facilities and offshore performance, with a yacht-like finish.

Barker Boatworks just announced the debut of its new 40 high-performance catamaran, the company's new four-wheel power flagship designed by Michael Peters. The new planing hull comes standard with four Mercury 300 Verados and Optimus 360 joystick controls. The top speed produced by the factory performance test is in the range of 80 mph. Fuel economy ranges from 0.8 mph at 60 mph to 0.95 mph at 40 mph.

The 40HPC beam has two 55-gallon live wells, and there are two more on the deck. Barker used dual 2,500 gph variable speed pumps and an oversized stainless steel pickup to pipe the well through the Hooker Sea Chest to keep the bait alive. The Frigid Rigid fish tanks in the front and midship provide a total of 664 gallons of insulated storage space for the fish caught that day.

The standard hardtop is equipped with a 15-pole rocket launcher, a Gemlux leg support, and a 22-foot carbon fiber leg rod. 38 additional Gemlux rod supports are located on the beams, consoles and cover panels. Four electric reel plugs are also standard, as well as a lockable pole storage device.

Port and starboard boarding gates make it easier for anglers to catch big fish.
